From Inferno to Elysium -- Original 24" x 20" Textured Painting
Inferno is an Italian word that means hell in English and is often associated with intense fire and heat, symbolizing a place of torment. The rough, chaotic texture at the bottom of the painting is my depiction of inferno. As you ascend to Elysium, the skies brighten, the clouds lift, and you're transported to a place of happiness and bliss. This piece represents the struggles we all face, those moments of hell and torment that we claw our way out of. As we reach our ideal state of happiness and bliss, our Elysium, we often feel like we've somehow done it all alone. But then we turn around and see our person or our animal, living or otherwise, who has been by our side this whole time. This piece is a celebration of the person in your life who has been with you through thick and thin.
